We offer 2 pre-registration trainee pharmacist placements
Both placements are full 12 month placements and trainees follow a diverse rotational programme, offering exposure to the range of services provided by EPUT and our Acute Trust colleagues at Basildon, Mid Essex (Broomfield) and Southend. Rotations include:
• Medicines Management
• Medicines Information
• Inpatient mental health (adult, older adult, mother and baby, psychiatric intensive care)
• Community mental health (home treatment, learning disabilities)
• Community health services
• Acute Trust
• Community Pharmacy
Unique to EPUT, our trainees have a clinical rather than solely dispensary base for their training, with emphasis given to providing a patient-facing experience and developing clinical pharmacy skills. Initially trainees work under close supervision but throughout the year are afforded more independence in which to learn and practice their skills.
Each trainee has a personal pre-registration tutor who will work clsoely with them throughout the year to guide their development and assess progress. At EPUT, our aim is to train you to become the best pharmacist you can be!
Our trainees complete a monthly tutorial programme alongside other trainees at the neighbouring Acute Trusts in addition to the excellent regional residential training programme delivered by the University of East Anglia.
